About Us

Teddy and Blue Bear are the inspirations behind Teddybum. They were my daughter's childhood bears and Teddy still travels everywhere with her - she's been from Oregon to James Bay to Amsterdam and everywhere in between.

Pocket Diapers

I created Teddybum as an idea about 15 years ago while my children were still in diapers - cloth diapers. At the time, there weren’t a lot of options for cloth diaper services; more importantly, it was all old-fashioned fold-to-fit diapers (think 1950’s diapers that are super cumbersome to use). As a result, we were always washing fitted diapers and diaper covers, lots and lots of diapers.

I sat on the idea of Teddybum for a long time, never wanting to take the risk of starting my own business. Now as I approach 50, my kids are older and starting to see the world through semi-adult eyes. It’s important to me that they see that where we start in life doesn’t need to be where we finish. It’s ok to take risks and try new things.

I believe that Teddybum can be more than just a diaper service. It’s about creating a community for new parents who choose cloth - parents who choose to raise kids without wrapping their sensitive areas in chemicals. It’s about creating access to services like Teddybum for communities north of Toronto to raise their kids without the mountains of landfill that disposable diapers create.

How it Works

Your subscription provides you with a dedicated set of cloth diapers for your little one - each set is a unique combination of colour and pattern to ensure you always get yours each week. A set includes 160 diapers (140 for the larger size). We drop off the first 80 (70 for the larger size) when you start your subscription - use what you need to diaper your baby that week, and throw them in the provided diaper bag. We'll pick up your dirty diapers and drop off the other half of the set the following week. This ensures you always have clean diapers when you need them. Our smaller diapers feature cute bug prints, while the larger diapers feature cute baby animals. Again, each baby gets a dedicated set with a unique print and colour, so you know your baby is always using the same set of diapers.

Cleaning

What touches your baby's bottom matters. It's not just about who will wash the diapers for you, it's about how they do it.

At Teddybum, we use baby sensitive ingredients powered by active oxygen and enzymes, to quickly and effectively remove any stains you get on our diapers. Our cleaning process attacks dirt, urine (and other stuff), blood, sweat, body oils, diaper creams, and more to ensure clean diapers for your little one.

Drop Off & Pick-up

Each week, you will receive your diapers in a reusable diaper pail liner bag. Simply unpack the bag onto the shelf and keep the liner bag for your dirties later.

To collect your dirties, put the liner bag in your diaper pail, and then deposit your dirties in the bag. Your very first order will come with an additional diaper pail liner bag ensuring you always have somewhere to put your dirties - even on your scheduled pick-up date.
